Proposing support for the initiative of the President of the United
States to introduce legislation to allow people ages 55 to 65
to buy into the Medicare program.
Whereas, Health care costs have risen dramatically in recent
years; and
Whereas, People ages 55 to 65 face special problems of access
and affordability to health care; and
Whereas, More must be done to open the door to affordable
health care for people in this age group; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That this body communicate its support for the proposal of the
President to introduce legislation to allow people from age 55 to
age 65 to buy into the Medicare program; and
Further resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to The West Virginia congressional
delegation.
